With lakes and rivers set in some of the most dramatic scenery, there are lots of opportunities for fishing in the Lake District.
Golf
Here in West Cumbria we have some excellent golf courses with stunning views, including one of England’s top links courses at Silloth.
Cycling
A short drive from the hotel is Whinlatter Forest Park which is home to exhilarating mountain biking trails including the longest purpose-built mountain bike trails in the Lake District. It has the Cyclewise Shop and Bike Hire offering cycle parts, clothing, maintenance as well as new bike sales.
Or if it is road biking you’re into, then the C2C cycle path and West Cumbria Cycle paths are not far from the hotel.

Boat Trips
A great way to take in the stunning scenery of the Lake District is a relaxing trip out by boat on one of the lakes. Trips are available on Derwent Water, Ullswater, Coniston and Windermere.
Rosehill Theatre, Whitehaven
One of Cumbria’s most cosy and intimate venues offers a whole host of entertainment from music, theatre, film, children’s shows and more! With a stunning view from every seat in our character filled auditorium and a fun-packed varied programme, there’s plenty to keep you entertained.
Cinema
There is a multiplex cinema complex in Workington showing the latest cinema releases, streaming of theatre shows and weekly art house films.
Treetop Trek
A great high wire adventure for the whole family at Brockhole, Windermere. Open all year round with 35 exciting treetop challenges to swing, climb, balance and fly your way through the ancient woodland canopy.
Watersports
There are plenty of opportunities to hire, boats, canoes and kayaks and enjoy the lakes from a different perspective. Not all Lakes have boat hire facilities and the nearest lake to Hunday Manor to hire boats and canoes is Derwentwater in Keswick.
